Granite Speaker Plinths

I've been trying to get local (11779 zip) Granite fabricators make simple 2 inch thich 12 x 14 dresses Slabs (http://www.VerdeUbatuba.com) to use as speaker plinths. So far no one seems to carry 2 inch thick Granite (http://tanbrown.org) . Several have offered toi glue thinner peices together to bring it up to 2 inches - is this a reasonabe solution ? I'd still like to get 2 inch thick w/o gluing together where i the Greater NYC area can these be purchased/ Fabrication would be minimal smoothed not polished with four holes drilled in one side for threaded inserts for speaker points
